Anti Racist book
I feel good that the book is about anti racim because its good to not be Racist. There is a lot of discussion on self identity so it was interesting reading about that. This content was new because I have not read a book about identity before. This book is about your identites, your class, who you are. In the book it says you are made up of your family, your neighborhood, your school, what you see on social media, what you hear in books and what you read and listen too. I think that's cool because there's tons of things I read and listen to each day. I watch some of the same things as my sister so we see and hear the same thing.
When I read this book is anti racist i thought it was interesting. It talks about who you are.
And I heard about identities. But I haven't read something like this.
You get to decide which identities you will share with the world and how you’ll do so.
Anti racism is actively working against racism.
It is making a commitment to resisting unjust laws, policies, and racist attitudes.
Who I am. What are my social identities? What is race? What is racism?
You are made up of your family, your friends, your neighborhood, your school, and what you see on social media and read in books.
You are everything within you and everything that surrounds you.
The girl in the book is named Tiffany and she is black biracial.
And cisgender and she has a lot of freckles.
The book was new to me because I had never read it before. But I liked it. I was able to learn about identity.

You get to choose how to name your identities. Your identity grows and changes just like you.
There are some things that are static and stay with you always. My skin color
and the freckles on my face have been with me for as long as I can remember and will continue on with me.
I think that I'll get to share things with people about me like my skin color and hair color.
She says she can wear her hair up or down Tiffany.
I changed my hairstyle too.
I had it in braids then I left it out and tied it up.
The dominant culture is mentioned. That's interesting.
Subordinate culture. I haven't heard of that before.
But people who are black are a part of that group. So this was a very interesting story.
In this episode of that's so raven a show that was on Disney channel a girl named Raven was not hired in a store even though she did everything right for her job evaluation Interveiw. Because she is black. The store manager admitted this on camera to ravens friend Chelsea. Chelsea is anti Racist. because she did not like what the manager did to raven or said. so raven and her friends came up with a plan to expose the store manger for being a racist. They got her on a camera hidden in Chelsea's hat and got her to say on camera how she felt about raven. Then the news showed what she said about raven on tv. and the store manager which is a white women was fired. Raven had this vision about the store manger so that's how she knew she was racist.
